Prof. Dilbaz shares Türkiye’s holistic treatment and collaboration models

Prof. Nesrin Dilbaz, Psychiatrist at Üsküdar University NPİSTANBUL Hospital, participated as an invited speaker in a high-level panel organized by the SAKINA Group, one of the largest government-affiliated mental health organizations in Abu Dhabi.

The panel, attended by approximately 100 psychiatrists, focused on current approaches to preventing relapse in schizophrenia and managing negative symptoms. Prof. Dilbaz shared Türkiye’s holistic treatment models and her clinical experience with international colleagues. The event provided a strong platform for mutual knowledge exchange and professional dialogue. Treatment and rehabilitation practices in the field of addiction were also discussed. Prof. Dilbaz expressed her hope that these meetings would pave the way for future international collaborations.

Prof. Dilbaz shares clinical experience in Abu Dhabi

SAKINA Group, which delivers public mental health services in Abu Dhabi, employs around 100 psychiatrists. Within this framework, Prof. Dilbaz delivered a comprehensive presentation to mental health professionals on relapse prevention strategies in schizophrenia, current treatment approaches, and clinical experience sharing.

Noting that the panel functioned as a reciprocal exchange of knowledge and experience, Prof. Dilbaz also highlighted the strengths of the mental health system in Abu Dhabi. She emphasized that a large number of psychiatrists work as consultants in the region and that there are large-scale addiction centers offering comprehensive rehabilitation services. She added that there was particular interest in her clinical experience in schizophrenia and addiction, as well as in the holistic treatment and interdisciplinary collaboration models implemented in Türkiye.

Collaboration opportunities may advance

Pointing out that potential collaborations in the field of addiction were also discussed, Prof. Dilbaz stated: “Questions were raised about the treatment processes we implement and our interdisciplinary collaboration models. We hope that these contacts will evolve into concrete collaborations in the near future.”
