The Üsküdar Üniversitesi Vocational School of Health Services (SHMYO) Occupational Health and Safety program organized an event titled “Occupational Accident Evaluation Process” within the scope of the University Culture course. B-class OHS Specialist and Management Systems Specialist Muhammed Oğuzhan Hanaz participated in the event. Hanaz drew attention to the current developments in occupational health and safety in our country; “Our aim is to prevent occupational accidents. Taking preventive measures in this regard is very important,” he said.
The opening speech of the program held at Üsküdar Üniversitesi Çarşı Campus Beylerbeyi Conference Hall was delivered by Dr. Gamze Kağan, Head of the Occupational Health and Safety Program at Üsküdar Üniversitesi Vocational School of Health Services (SHMYO).
Dr. Gamze Kağan: “Occupational accidents happen very frequently”
Underlining that Turkey is one of the countries where occupational accidents occur most frequently, Dr. Gamze Kağan said; “One of the reasons why occupational health and safety is important in Turkey is the high number of occupational accidents. In this regard, we rank first in Europe and second in the world,” she stated.
Muhammed Oğuzhan Hanaz: “Taking preventive measures in this regard is very important”
Muhammed Oğuzhan Hanaz, a B-class OHS Specialist and Management Systems Specialist, emphasized the importance of preventive measures in occupational health and safety, and highlighted the diversity of the occupational health and safety field.
Hanaz said; “The institution I currently work for is an OSGB company. OSGB companies provide occupational safety services to multiple companies and can serve in neighboring provinces of their located city. A company in Istanbul cannot serve Trabzon; it can serve its neighbors in areas with land borders. After seeing many companies, I realized that at its core, no matter how much you know, if you don't take preventive measures against occupational accidents, it doesn't matter if you are C, A, have a master's degree, or are a high school graduate. The aim is to prevent occupational accidents. Taking preventive measures in this regard is very important,” he stated.
The program concluded with a group photo session after a certificate of appreciation was presented to Muhammed Oğuzhan Hanaz.
