Academic Orientation Held for Preference and Promotion Period

Üsküdar University organized an orientation program for academics who will take part in the Preference and Promotion Days, which will be held between July 31 and August 13, 2021. The administrative and academic staff gathered in the online orientation program held as part of the fight against the Covid-19 pandemic. Prof. Dr. Nevzat Tarhan, noting that they aim for face-to-face education in the new academic year, stated, “It is important for us that our students feel secure about their future.”

University's Activities Explained

In the orientation program attended by the administrative and academic staff of Üsküdar University, the first information regarding the preference period was given by Expert Psychologist Counselor Ece Tözeniş, Manager of Educational Institutions and Guidance Services. Later, Cumhur Bakır, Director of Student Affairs, also provided information on some topics that prospective students were curious about regarding the preference period. 

Expert Psychologist Counselor Ece Tözeniş: “Students Must Make the Right Choice”

Tözeniş, providing information about the process to be applied during the preference and promotion period, said; “Due to the pandemic, task distribution was made across all our campuses. Our students assigned to all campuses will be greeting prospective students. Promotion desks have been set up. Our advisor lecturers are always ready, waiting for our prospective students, to help them make the right choice.”

Cumhur Bakır: “Our Preference Scholarships Continue This Year As Well”

Cumhur Bakır, Director of Student Affairs, provided information about scholarships, stating: “Our preference advisors will support our students during the preference stage. Our preference scenarios are also ready. Candidates will be given information about scholarship fees and conditions. Explanations are available on our website for students.”

In the orientation program, all operations of the university were explained in detail to the academics. Detailed information was also provided about the Online Interview, Live Support, and Scholarship opportunities offered by Üsküdar University.

Prof. Dr. Nevzat Tarhan: “It Is Important for Us That Our Students Feel Secure About Their Future”

Prof. Dr. Nevzat Tarhan, emphasizing the importance of preference and promotion days for candidates in the program attended by Vice Rectors, Rector's Advisors, Faculty Deans, and Institute Directors, stated; “May the preference and promotion period be beneficial for everyone. Despite the early announcement of YKS scores, we, as the university, quickly made arrangements and became ready for the promotion days. Regarding the question often asked by students, 'How will university education be during the pandemic?' I can say this: we have made our plans for face-to-face education. If there are no changes to the plan in October, we aim to transition to face-to-face education. It is important for us that our students feel secure about their future. We have set a goal for ourselves to proceed with good intentions and sincerity. The importance of preference and promotion days is great.”

During this period, the academic staff met with the candidates and were informed comprehensively about the university's activities and operations.
