A seminar titled "Personal Well-being in Elderly Individuals Residing in Institutional Care" was organized within the scope of 'in-house training' by the Ministry of Family, Labor and Social Services. In the seminar held for elderly individuals staying in nursing homes and working psychologists, social service specialists, sociologists, nurses, and physiotherapists, Lecturer İdil Arasan Doğan shared important information on factors affecting personal well-being and how relationships and communication with elderly individuals should be.

Factors Affecting Personal Well-being
Under the moderation of Istanbul Provincial Deputy Director Abdullah Atmaca and Expert Psychologist Yeter Kutlu, with Lecturer İdil Arasan Doğan from Üsküdar Üniversitesi Social Sciences Institute participating as a speaker, the seminar discussed aging as a social phenomenon considered a process of change and adaptation. It was noted that the concept of personal well-being is acquired over years and is expected to peak at age 65, and for it not to decline in old age, the middle adulthood period should be productive. The seminar extensively covered factors and variables affecting personal well-being, emphasizing the necessity of physical, emotional, intellectual, occupational, social, environmental, and spiritual well-being for overall well-being, psychological changes and social support in old age, elder care, understanding the elderly in institutions and their emotions, and how relationships and communication with elderly individuals should be.
The seminar also addressed the potential burnout of institutional employees due to workload and life events, stating that providing good service first requires our own well-being.
