At Üsküdar University Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, a Peer Evaluation Process was carried out within the scope of quality assurance activities. The process, implemented with the aim of strengthening the quality culture and disseminating the approach of continuous improvement, was successfully completed at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences.

The peer evaluation process took place at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences located on the South Campus. The process was carried out with the contributions of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences Dean Prof. Deniz Ülke Kaynak, Vice Deans Asst. Prof. Nihan Kalkandeler Özdin and Asst. Prof. Zeynep Gümüş Demir, as well as the academic and administrative staff of the faculty.
The evaluation team included Prof. Nilgün Tekkeşin, a faculty member of the Department of Medical Biochemistry at the Faculty of Medicine (English), Instructor Eyser Kılıç, Head of the Biomedical Device Technology Program at the Vocational School of Health Services, and Özlem Baran, the student representative from the Faculty of Health Sciences.
Faculty activities examined on site
During the visit, activities related to the faculty’s education and training, research and development, social contribution, and administrative processes were examined on site.
The coordination of the process was carried out by the Chair of the Quality Commission and Vice Dean Asst. Prof. Nihan Kalkandeler Özdin.

General evaluations of the faculty were conducted
The peer evaluation process began with an informative presentation delivered by the faculty administration.
Following the general evaluations of the faculty, meetings were held with academic staff, members of the quality commission, department heads, student representatives, alumni, and external stakeholders to receive feedback on quality assurance practices. At the same time, field observations of the faculty’s physical spaces were conducted and evaluations were made regarding the current situation.

Quality practices addressed in a holistic manner
Within the scope of the visit, evaluations were also carried out regarding the functioning of units associated with the faculty.
With the contributions of the directorates, institutional coordination and quality practices were also addressed in a holistic manner.
