At Üsküdar Üniversitesi Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, a Peer Evaluation Process was conducted as part of quality assurance efforts. The process, carried out with the aim of strengthening the culture of quality and disseminating the understanding of continuous improvement, was successfully completed at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences.
The peer evaluation process took place at the South Campus Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences. The process was carried out with the contributions of Prof. Dr. Deniz Ülke Kaynak, Dean of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Assistant Deans Dr. Nihan Kalkandeler Özdin and Dr. Zeynep Gümüş Demir, and the academic and administrative staff of the faculty.
The evaluation team included Prof. Dr. Nilgün Tekkeşin, faculty member of the Medical Biochemistry Department (English) at the Faculty of Medicine; Lecturer Eyser Kılıç, Program Head of Biomedical Device Technology at the Vocational School of Health Services (SHMYO); and Özlem Baran, student representative of the Faculty of Health Sciences.
Faculty's work examined on-site
During the visit, the faculty's activities related to education and training, research and development, societal contribution, and administrative processes were examined on-site.
The coordination of the process was carried out by Dr. Nihan Kalkandeler Özdin, Vice Dean and Head of the Quality Commission.
General evaluations regarding the faculty were made
The peer evaluation process began with an informative presentation made by the faculty administration.
Following general evaluations of the faculty, discussions were held with faculty members, quality commission members, department heads, student representatives, alumni, and external stakeholders to gather feedback on quality assurance practices. Field observations were also conducted on the physical areas belonging to the faculty, and evaluations were made regarding the current situation.
Quality practices addressed holistically
Within the scope of the visit, evaluations were also made regarding the functioning of units related to the faculty.
With the contributions of the department directorates, internal coordination and quality practices were also addressed holistically.
