In the Entangled Histories seminar series, organized in academic collaboration with Üsküdar University, Rafael J. Pascual from Oxford University gave a presentation on the examination of meter and alliteration in Old English poetry using digital tools. The seminar was open to public participation.

The seminar series titled Entangled Histories: Borders and Cultural Encounters from the Medieval to the Contemporary Era, conducted in collaboration with Üsküdar University and the University of Insubria, continued with its fifth session. The seminar, attended by Rafael J. Pascual from Oxford University as a speaker, brought together a wide audience from the fields of philology, medieval literature, and digital humanities. Pascual, who drew attention with his digital metrical database project analyzing alliteration patterns in Old English poetry, discussed in his presentation the contributions of combining traditional philological methods with digital analysis techniques to interdisciplinary academic research.

The Entangled Histories seminar series will continue with a talk by Sophie Ling-chia Wei from The Chinese University of Hong Kong, titled “Typology Meets the Yijing: Jesuit Figurists’ Intralingual Translation and the Sinification of Jesus.” The seminar series, held online and open to the public, will continue to host guests from various disciplines until the summer months.
