About Diabetes:

Diabetes is a chronic disease consisting of two types: Type 1 and Type 2. Type 1 is genetic and autoimmune, emerging at a young age, and insulin is used in its treatment. Type 2 is linked to age, weight, insulin resistance, and environmental factors, and while there is no definitive cure, individuals must pay attention to their diet and daily life activities. If diabetes is diagnosed and not immediately addressed or carefully managed, in the future, individuals may experience significant restrictions in daily life activities, a decrease in their performance capacity, social and cultural limitations, and consequently, a loss of independence. At this point, Occupational Therapists step in.
