Assoc. Prof. Dr. Müge Arslan, Head of Üsküdar University Faculty of Health Sciences, Department of Nutrition and Dietetics, served as the Turkey editor for the book 'Nutrition', which holds a significant place among international scientific books and was authored by Paul Insel. With the editorship of the book, Üsküdar University became a prominent university in Turkey in terms of prestige and quality for its Department of Nutrition and Dietetics. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Müge Arslan also announced that she would donate the 'Nutrition' book for free access in Üsküdar University libraries to contribute to students' education.


The book 'Nutrition', for which Assoc. Prof. Dr. Müge Arslan served as the translation editor, met its readers through Ankara Nobel Medical Bookstores publications.
A work encompassing all innovations…
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Müge Arslan, Head of the Department of Nutrition and Dietetics, stated that the book 'Nutrition' is a highly prestigious and scientifically robust source among international scientific books, saying; “It is a work that contains all scientific information on many important and fundamental topics related to nutrition, such as adult, child, and athlete nutrition, food choices, functional foods, the obesity epidemic, eating disorders, food safety, microbial threats, and malnutrition, presented very clearly and comprehensibly, and encompassing all innovations in this field.”

Arslan mentioned working on this project for a year, stating that being the Turkey translation editor for such a book was very joyful and a source of pride. Arslan said; “It was truly an exhausting journey. It was a project I worked on for a year. Being the Turkey translation editor for such a book was also very joyful and a source of pride. I extend my sincere thanks to all chapter authors for their efforts. I would especially like to thank my colleagues in the Nutrition and Dietetics department at Üsküdar University who supported me on this path. It was an exciting and joyous feeling.”

Assoc. Referring to the contributions of the 'Nutrition' book to the literature, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Arslan said; “This book is a resource that has reached its 7th edition internationally, abroad. At the same time, in terms of the topics it covers, it is a highly valuable scientific resource for both students embarking on their professional journey and health professionals and nutritionists advancing in their careers.”

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Müge Arslan, also speaking about her ongoing work and projects, stated that as a department, they have international scientific articles of high quality. Arslan said; “I am chairing a scientific congress where doyen scientists from many universities such as Hacettepe University, Ankara University, Health Sciences University, and Istanbul University will speak. Additionally, for the TÜBİTAK project I conducted for individuals with Celiac disease, we will have three online seminars and meetings until the end of the year to provide access to students from every city, based on the principle of equality in education. Besides these, I also hold editorships for one ESC international journal and one national journal.”
