1st and 2nd-year students of Üsküdar University Vocational School of Health Services (SHMYO) Nuclear Technology and Radiation Safety Program visited the Nuclear Energy Research Institute of the Turkish Energy, Nuclear and Mineral Research Agency (TENMAK). The student group, accompanied by Dilek Aker, Head of the Nuclear Technology and Radiation Safety Program, and Dr. Feride Kulalı Özdek, Deputy Director of SHMYO, had the opportunity to see the TR-2 Research Reactor, Radiobiology Unit, and Secondary Standard Dosimetry Laboratory, which are among the most comprehensive nuclear facilities in Turkey.

Students of the Nuclear Technology and Radiation Safety Program carried out a technical trip to Küçükçekmece TENMAK, accompanied by Program Head Lecturer Dilek Aker and SHMYO Deputy Director Asst. Prof. Dr. Feride Kulalı Özdek.
Within the scope of the organized trip, students had the opportunity to see the TR-2 Research Reactor, Radiobiology Unit, and Secondary Standard Dosimetry Laboratory, which are among the most comprehensive nuclear facilities in Turkey.

TR-2 operators answered students' questions
It was stated that in line with the founding objectives of the TR-2 Research Reactor, it is kept ready for operation primarily to maintain the experience and capabilities gained in the field of nuclear technology, to monitor international developments and ensure that relations remain current, to evaluate research, development, and production opportunities in this regard in accordance with the changing radioisotope supply and demand in the world and in our country, and for all types of on-the-job training that may be needed in the nuclear field.

Internship training is provided to university students pursuing studies
On-the-job training for reactor operating personnel and radiation protection personnel who will work at TENMAK Turkish Energy, Nuclear and Mineral Research Agency (NÜKEN), and internship training for university students studying in related fields are provided.
In this context, students of Üsküdar University's Nuclear Technology and Radiation Safety program also have the opportunity to undertake voluntary summer internships.
