Digital Eid Enthusiasm in Üsküdar

Many academic and administrative staff attended the 'Online Eid Greeting' ceremony held with the participation of Üsküdar Üniversitesi Founding Rector Prof. Dr. Nevzat Tarhan.

In the ceremony held via Zoom, Üsküdar Üniversitesi Founding Rector Prof. Dr. Nevzat Tarhan, Board of Trustees Member Furkan Tarhan, and Acting Rector Prof. Dr. Mehmet Zelka delivered the opening speeches. Tarhan began his words with wishes for a good holiday for everyone; “First of all, I wish everyone a blessed Eid. We left Ramadan behind, and it was an interesting Ramadan. It was a Ramadan where Covid cases increased. It was a Ramadan with no going out, with social isolation. The Covid pandemic turned into a Covid tragedy. This is one of the rare destructive innovations in history. Yes, there is destructiveness, it destroys things, but things regenerate. There have been such periods in history as well.” he said.

“We hope that Jerusalem will also see holidays in peace”

In the program where Üsküdar Üniversitesi Board of Trustees Member Furkan Tarhan also conveyed his congratulatory messages, Acting Rector Prof. Dr. Mehmet Zelka stated that a bittersweet Eid was experienced this year due to recent events; “I heartily congratulate everyone on Eid al-Fitr, and I hope that we will have the opportunity to celebrate future Eid al-Fitr holidays face-to-face without any restrictions. Among the reasons for celebrating Eid during Ramadan is that people reach the holiday purified in Ramadan. When I think of Ramadan, excitement always comes to mind, but unfortunately, we could not experience it enough this Ramadan. Especially in recent days, we cannot ignore the events that occurred in Al-Aqsa Mosque, in Jerusalem, which troubled us and led us to sadness rather than happiness, carrying us into a bittersweet Ramadan and Eid. We hope that the oppression there ends, and Jerusalem, one of the fundamental centers of all religions, will see holidays in peace, never again witnessing the oppression experienced today. With these feelings, I wish you many beautiful holidays free from quarantine.” he said.

In the online Eid ceremony, broadcast live on YOUTUBE with the participation of family members working at Üsküdar Üniversitesi, NPİSTANBUL Beyin Hastanesi, and Medical Centers, participants experienced the joy of the holiday starting today.

Following the opening speeches, all academic and administrative staff at the university and hospital who wished to speak expressed their wishes and greetings for the holiday, exchanging Eid greetings with each other.
