A workshop titled “Empowering New Generation Talents in the Field of Social Innovation” was held in cooperation with Üsküdar University, Ondokuz Mayıs University, and Samsun University, coordinated by Samsun Metropolitan Municipality. The workshop brought young people together in project development processes focused on social innovation and social impact. During the two-day program, applied training and mentoring-supported activities were carried out, and university students developed a total of 13 social innovation projects based on sustainability, volunteerism, and local development.

New Generation Talents Empowered by Social Innovation in Samsun

University students, academics, and sector representatives gathered within the scope of social innovation, entrepreneurship, and social impact-oriented project development processes at the workshop held on May 5-6 in the Samsun Metropolitan Municipality SBB Multi-Purpose Hall Ömer Halisdemir Hall.

Social Innovation-Oriented Activities Conducted with Applied Training
Within the scope of the workshop, applied training was provided to the participants by Dr. Nebiye Yaşar, Community Contribution Coordinator of Üsküdar University.
The training covered the social innovation approach, analysis of social problems, problem-solving methods, and sustainable project development processes.
The program aimed for young people to be able to accurately analyze social problems, think solution-oriented, conduct interdisciplinary teamwork, and develop projects that can create sustainable social impact.

Academics and Sector Representatives Met with Young People
The workshop program included academics and sector representatives who are experts in their fields.
Participants actively engaged in project production processes with a social innovation perspective by conducting mentoring-supported applied studies for two days.
13 Social Innovation Projects from Young People
During the workshop, a total of 13 social innovation projects were developed by working groups formed by university students. The projects put forward by young people drew attention with their solution proposals focused on community contribution, sustainability, volunteerism, social impact, and local development.

At the end of the program, project presentations were held, and certificates and participation documents were presented to the participants.
