President of Üsküdar University, Psychiatrist Prof. Nevzat Tarhan, attended the opening ceremony of the Üsküdar District Governorship Book Fair, organized at Üsküdar Square as part of the “I Read, Istanbul Reads” project. During the opening, a call was made for everyone to “write either a poem, an article, or a book for Gaza.”

Prof. Nevzat Tarhan attended the opening of the Üsküdar Book Fair

The Üsküdar District Governorship Book Fair, organized within the scope of the “I Read, Istanbul Reads” project, was inaugurated with a ceremony held at Üsküdar Square.

The event, which Prof. Nevzat Tarhan was invited to, was attended by Istanbul Governor Davut Gül, former Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye Prof. Mustafa Şentop, Üsküdar District Governor Adem Yazıcı, former President of Religious Affairs Prof. Mehmet Görmez, students, teachers, and a large number of readers.

After the official speeches, the ribbon-cutting ceremony was held collectively, marking the official opening of the fair.
Prof. Tarhan emphasized that book fairs contribute to individuals’ intellectual development and support the spread of reading culture in society.

Organized by the Üsküdar District Governorship, the book fair will welcome book lovers at Üsküdar Square between October 11 and 19.
