The “Neurolink and Artificial Intelligence” panel, moderated by 1st-year students Ergin Kömürcü and Filiz Kar from the English Translation and Interpreting Department, also attracted interest from academics.
The event, followed online by participants, opened the door to many interesting and current discussions.
In addition to the recently much-discussed Neurolink project, the positive and negative aspects of artificial intelligence were debated with different interpretations and perspectives from each of the students.
Speakers, who addressed topics such as transhumanism, life on Mars, the use of artificial intelligence in warfare, violation of privacy rights, robot brain, augmented education, and Elon Musk's near-future predictions, clarified uncertainties about what might happen in the future.
At the end of the panel, a certificate of appreciation was presented to moderators Filiz Kar and Ergin Kömürcü by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Feride Zeynep Güder.
