The opening of Üsküdar University's 2023-2024 Academic Year was held with a ceremony. At the ceremony, the ‘Üsküdar University Special Award’ was presented to the Turkish A National Volleyball Team.
At the ceremony held at Üsküdar University Central Campus Nermin Tarhan Conference Hall, the ‘Üsküdar University Special Award’ was presented by Prof. Dr. Nevzat Tarhan, Üsküdar University Board of Trustees Chairman Furkan Tarhan, and Rector Prof. Dr. Nazife Güngör to National Volleyball Player İlkin Aydın, a 1st-year student in the Visual Communication Design Department of Üsküdar University's Faculty of Communication, on behalf of the Turkish A National Volleyball Team.
She gifted her signed jersey worn during the championship
İlkin Aydın gifted the jersey she wore during the championship matches, which bore the signatures of her teammates from the National Team.
National volleyball player İlkin Aydın, who is also a student in the Visual Communication and Design department of Üsküdar University's Faculty of Communication, stated the following in her speech at the ceremony:
“I believe you know how difficult it is to both have a profession and study at school in Turkey. I am very grateful for this opportunity you have given me, because even though sports can become a profession, it can always come to a halt due to potential injuries. That’s why I always wanted to have a diploma. I have been striving for this, and I am very happy to be at Üsküdar University now. I thank everyone who gave me this opportunity.”
