Üsküdar Üniversitesi hosted Validebağ Science High School students within the scope of a three-day Model United Nations (MUN) conference. In committees where different countries were represented, students had the opportunity to discuss current world issues. The program, enriched with social events alongside academic content, provided participants with both knowledge and experience.

Students showed great interest in the event held at Üsküdar Üniversitesi Çarşı Campus.

350 participants, a 3-day intensive program…
The MUN conference, held with approximately 370 participants including the Validebağ Science High School organization team, served as a simulation education where current world issues were discussed, and students represented different countries and institutions in committees.

Delegates represented the United Nations in committees
Throughout the event, students served as delegates of different countries in various United Nations committees.
Within the scope of the simulation, students had the opportunity to develop skills such as critical thinking, teamwork, leadership, decision-making, and negotiation. Discussions on various issues determined on the agenda also enabled students to gain awareness of world problems.

A vibrant atmosphere created with social events
Not only academic sessions but also various social events were organized within the conference.
Students had a pleasant time with games such as sack race and tug-of-war.

Goal: academic and social development
During the three-day event, Üsküdar Üniversitesi offered prospective students the opportunity to experience the university environment, while high school students developed their skills in thinking, discussing, and producing solutions on global issues.
In the evaluations made at the end of the event, it was stated that the organization was productive in terms of both content and impact.

What is Model United Nations (MUN)?
Model United Nations (MUN) is a simulation event where high school and university students represent various countries based on the working system of the United Nations. Participants discuss current international issues in different committees and present solution proposals. MUN conferences contribute to the development of students' skills in diplomacy, negotiation, public speaking, critical thinking, and leadership.
