The second leg of the “Mizan” Concept Workshop in Islamic Thought was held in Doha, the capital of Qatar, on September 20-21, 2022. Under the patronage of Hamad Bin Khalifa University and Qatar Foundation, the workshop saw the participation of numerous academicians, representatives of environmental organizations, and students. Environmentalists emphasized that the modern world is facing an unprecedented environmental crisis. Qatari media organizations showed great interest in the “Mizan” Concept Workshop in Islamic Thought, which addressed environmental issues and aimed to generate solutions.

Supported by UNEP, which aims to provide an Islamic perspective, “Al Mizan - A Covenant for the Earth” is successfully becoming a focal point on new platforms every day. To develop and adopt this call, it is aimed to symbolize a global effort by including Islamic scholars and Muslim institutions in the process.
“Al-Mizan - A Covenant for the Earth” consists of the re-articulation of principles governing the conservation of nature in a way that addresses current challenges. Emphasis is placed on the moral principles behind the social order of human existence.

Meanwhile, the joint working text, to which Muslim thought leaders worldwide contributed, carried out under the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) Faith for Earth Initiative, Al Mizan: World Environmental Covenant, was shared with the public at a meeting hosted by Uskudar University.
