Mehmet Nuri Güleç (Mehmet Fırıncı Ağabey), disciple of Bediüzzaman Said Nursi and President of İstanbul Science and Culture Foundation and Nur Foundation, was bid farewell on his last journey. Mehmet Fırıncı, who rendered great services in the publication and translation of Risale-i Nur, was laid to rest in the Eyüp Sultan Mosque graveyard. Fırıncı had attended many programs held at Üsküdar Üniversitesi as a guest of honor.
Minister of Interior Süleyman Soylu, AK Party Deputy Chairman Mahir Ünal, AK Party İstanbul Deputy Hasan Turan, AK Party İstanbul Provincial Chairman Bayram Şenocak, and many citizens attended the funeral ceremony held for Fırıncı at Eyüp Sultan Mosque at noon.
Fırıncı, whose real name was Mehmet Nuri Güleç, and who was also the President of İstanbul Science and Culture Foundation and Nur Foundation, had been receiving treatment at a private hospital for some time.

Mehmet Fırıncı had been invited as a guest of honor to many programs organized by Üsküdar Üniversitesi.
In 2014, Mehmet Fırıncı attended the program 'Bediüzzaman Through the Eyes of His Disciples,' organized by Üsküdar Üniversitesi on the occasion of the 54th anniversary of Bediüzzaman Said Nursi’s death, as a speaker.
Fırıncı, furthermore, in 2016, was a guest of honor at the program 'Radical Religious Movements and Bediüzzaman's Solution Proposals,' organized by Üsküdar Üniversitesi on the 56th anniversary of Bediüzzaman Said Nursi's death.
Mehmed Fırıncı, who also attended the program held on the occasion of the 57th anniversary of Bediüzzaman Said Nursi’s death in 2017 as a guest of honor, was presented with a certificate of honor by Üsküdar Üniversitesi Founding Rector Prof. Dr. Nevzat Tarhan for his participation.
In 2017, Mehmed Fırıncı also participated in the 'Sünahat Readings Panel' for Bediüzzaman Said Nursi Hazretleri's work Sünahat, organized by Üsküdar Üniversitesi and Risale Academy, via video message due to being abroad.
Finally, Mehmet Fırıncı was also a guest at the online meeting organized by Üsküdar Üniversitesi on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of Bediüzzaman Said Nursi’s passing.
