In cooperation with the Üsküdar University Career Center Department (KARMER), a training titled “Life's Compass: Values” was organized. The training discussed the place of values in human life and the importance of an individual living in harmony with their own values. In the training, where Educator-Writer Dr. Zülfikar Özkan was the speaker, emphasis was placed on recognizing one's own values, the self-actualization process, and the relationship between values.

Educator-Writer Dr. Zülfikar Özkan was a guest at the program held at Üsküdar University Çarşı Campus.

The program discussed the role of an individual realizing the values that shape their life, in the process of self-discovery and directing their life.

Values Determine the Direction of Life…

Dr. Zülfikar Özkan met with students to discuss the topic of values, which he also addressed in his book titled “Get Rid of Things That Tire Your Soul”. The training emphasized the importance of an individual not only recognizing the values they possess but also questioning the place of these values in their life.

The training highlighted the relationship between a person's life choices, decisions, self-actualization process, and their values, emphasizing that recognizing one's inner world and discerning values that hold meaning for oneself plays a crucial role in guiding one's life.

What is my deepest and most intrinsic value?

At the heart of the training was the question, “What is my deepest and most intrinsic value?”, prompting participants to reflect on their own values.
Through this question, emphasis was placed on individuals recognizing themselves, identifying the values they hold important, and assessing the harmony between their life and these values.

In the training, where the concept of self-actualization was also discussed alongside values, the importance of an individual knowing their own values for consciously guiding their life was evaluated. Thus, students were provided with an opportunity to reflect not only on their academic and professional goals but also on the values that guide their personal lives.

Training Concluded with a Breathing Exercise

The program, conducted with the active participation of students, concluded with a breathing exercise.

The event concluded with a breathing exercise conducted at the end of the training to reinforce participants' experiences related to the program.
Additionally, as part of the program, two students were gifted a copy of Dr. Zülfikar Özkan’s signed book titled “Get Rid of Things That Tire Your Soul”.
