"I wrote Turkey's first pyrography art book"
Ministry of Culture and Tourism Pyrography Artist Muammer Kırmızıgül shared his artistic journey with the students throughout the event and provided important information. Kırmızıgül, stating that he wrote Turkey's first pyrography art book, said: "The worldwide name of our art is 'Pyrography', which means writing with fire. Previously, since there were no developed tools, metals were heated with fire to perform operations, and this was called 'branding'. Works were not portraits like today, but mostly in the style of Anatolian motifs. Thanks to technological advancements, we can now produce much more detailed works."
The first person to receive an artist card…
Kırmızıgül, stating that he received the first artist card by introducing and establishing the art in Turkey, also talked about the process of popularizing pyrography art. Kırmızıgül said: "In Turkey and around the world, it is generally known as 'wood burning'. However, we work not only on wood but also on eight different combustible materials. We also work on materials such as gourds, leather, paper, fabric, bone, egg, and leaves."
Students showed great interest
Kırmızıgül demonstrated pyrography works to the students practically. Students also had the opportunity to get to know this art form closely by trying it out.
The event concluded with the participants producing their own works.
