Üsküdar University Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences Dean Prof. Dr. İbrahim Özdemir met with international students from different departments of the university. The meeting, held in a phygital format, was attended by numerous international students from various countries, as well as Erasmus and International Students Club President Tulin Khulki, faculty international student and Erasmus coordinators Assoc. Prof. Dr. Asil Özdoğru, Lecturer Dr. Hamoon Khelghat-Doost, Lecturer Murat Otoğlu, and Research Assistant Safura Koçoğlu Eyiler.
At the event, organized for international students to comfortably express their experiences, students shared their experiences, observations, difficulties, and wishes regarding their education and social life in our country. Ideas were exchanged for further improving the current situation and finding solutions to the problems encountered.
Prof. Dr. İbrahim Özdemir; “The ‘Target Friendship Program’ will ensure the development of peer relationships.”
Prof. Dr. İbrahim Özdemir, addressing the adaptation processes of newly arrived international students, drew attention to the ‘Target Friendship’ program, created to help students adapt to the university and communicate more easily with Turkish students. Prof. Dr. Özdemir stated; “The ‘Target Friendship’ program is a type of mentoring program aimed at supporting international students. Within the scope of this program, a mentor will be assigned to guide newly arrived international students, thereby accelerating their adaptation processes at the university and fostering the development of peer relationships.”
Prof. Dr. İbrahim Özdemir, who closely addressed the students’ problems, gained their interest and sympathy by humorously presenting his experiences and knowledge about the geographies they came from.
The program, also attended by Erasmus coordinators Lecturer Dr. Hamoon Khelghat-Doost, Lecturer Murat Otoğlu, and Research Assistant Safura Koçoğlu Eyiler, concluded after a group photo session.
