International students met at the UNI101 event

The International Student Relations Office, affiliated with the Department of Health, Culture and Sports (SKS) at Üsküdar University, organized a UNI101 Introduction and Orientation Training for international students newly enrolled in the 2025–2026 Academic Year. The event, which prioritized intercultural interaction and community spirit, aimed to help students adapt to campus life. 

The event, organized in the Kuleli Hall of the Central Campus in collaboration with the International Student Relations Office, affiliated with the Department of Health, Culture and Sports (SKS), and student teams ISSTeam (International Student Support Team) and TFTeam (Target Friendship Mentor Team), garnered significant interest. 

Goal: Rapid adaptation to university life…

The opening speech of the event, which aimed for international students to rapidly adapt to university life, was delivered by Dr. Gülcan Ayral, Manager of the International Student Relations Office and Assistant Professor. 

In her speech, Ayral emphasized the importance of students making a strong start to their academic and social lives.

They learned about university culture

During the training, students were provided with information about academic and administrative processes, campus life, and university culture. 

ISSTeam and TFTeam members provided guidance and support to newly arrived students.

Team members Sakarie H. Ali, Ahmad Mozaik, Asma Boumaaiz, Nazlıcan Yüksel, M. Said Saymaz, Mahjuba Seddiqi, Abdullah S. Warak, Mahmoud R. Samman, Elif N. Kurtuluş, and Khamza Kalaadzhi, along with office staff Ayça Aracıçam, Tasnim Saka Laik, and Sinem Bayram, shared the dynamics of university life.

Intercultural solidarity reinforced

In the event where intercultural solidarity and interaction were strengthened, the student-to-student knowledge transfer model not only went beyond a mere introductory process but also presented a successful example of creating a participatory, supportive, and sustainable learning ecosystem.

Prof. Dr. Nevzat Tarhan’s book presented as a gift

At the end of the orientation, the Russian student who ranked in the knowledge competition was gifted the book titled “Bilinçli Genç Olmak (Conscious Youth)” by Üsküdar University Founding Rector and Author Prof. Dr. Nevzat Tarhan, along with a stationery set.
