The International Student Relations Office, operating under Üsküdar University’s Department of Health, Culture and Sports (SKS), organized the UNI101 Introduction and Orientation Program for new international students beginning the 2025–2026 Academic Year. The event aimed to help students adapt to campus life while emphasizing intercultural interaction and community engagement.

Held at the Main Campus Kuleli Hall, the program was jointly organized by the International Student Relations Office and student teams ISSTeam (International Student Support Team) and TFTeam (Target Friendship Mentor Team). The event received strong participation from both new and returning students.

Helping Students Adapt Quickly to University Life
The opening speech was delivered by Dr. Gülcan Ayral, Head of the International Student Relations Office. In her address, Dr. Ayral highlighted the importance of making a strong start to both academic and social life, encouraging students to actively engage in the university’s multicultural environment.

Learning About University Culture
Throughout the program, students were introduced to the academic and administrative processes, campus facilities, and university culture. Members of ISSTeam and TFTeam guided and supported newcomers during the orientation.
Team members Sakarie H. Ali, Ahmad Mozaik, Asma Boumaaiz, Nazlıcan Yüksel, M. Said Saymaz, Mahjuba Seddiqi, Abdullah S. Warak, Mahmoud R. Samman, Elif N. Kurtuluş, and Khamza Kalaadzhi, along with office staff Ayça Aracıçam, Tasnim Saka Laik, and Sinem Bayram, shared insights and practical advice about university life.

Strengthening Intercultural Solidarity
The event strengthened intercultural solidarity and interaction, showcasing a student-to-student knowledge-sharing model that went beyond a typical orientation. The program represented a participatory, supportive, and sustainable learning ecosystem, fostering a strong sense of community among participants.

Prof. Nevzat Tarhan’s Book Presented as a Gift
At the end of the orientation, a quiz competition was held. The top-performing student, from Russia, received a book titled “Conscious Youth” by President of Üsküdar University and Author Prof. Nevzat Tarhan, along with a stationery set as a gift.
