Instructor Ayhan Demircan of Üsküdar University Health Services Vocational School (SHMYO) Opticianry Program has been elected as the new president of the Turkish Opticians and Optometrists Association (TOGB) following its Extraordinary General Assembly. The Association, which operates with the aim of protecting public health and professional ethical values, will draw strength from the academic guidance of Üsküdar University in the new period.

During the general assembly, the activities carried out by the association to date were discussed and unanimously approved by the delegates.
The election was conducted with a single list prepared under the leadership of Instructor Ayhan Demircan and as a result of consultations with the chambers. The general assembly, which saw high participation, concluded with a section for wishes and suggestions, where colleagues shared their expectations and recommendations.
New era registered with the election
As a result of the elections, the list led by Instructor Ayhan Demircan won the election by securing the majority of votes.
The new period under the presidency of Instructor Ayhan Demircan, who leads academic studies within Üsküdar University and also pioneers sectoral developments, is expected to accelerate the Turkish Opticians and Optometrists Association's projects focused on professional discipline and public health.
