The Design Club, affiliated with Üsküdar Üniversitesi Health Culture and Sports (SKS) Department, organized an interview with Visual Designer Yusuf Enes Merter. Merter, who stands out with his work in visual design, offered career advice to students new to their design journey during the event.

Visual Designer Yusuf Enes Merter and students from the Faculty of Communication attended the interview held at Üsküdar Üniversitesi Faculty of Communication Fuat Sezgin Conference Hall.

During the event, Merter shared insights into his personal development journey, his experiences in design, and ways to make a difference in the industry.

“Creating your own signature comes from your external determination”

Merter emphasized self-development through individual effort, not just limited to university education, and offered significant advice to students. Merter said; “My foray into music design wasn't really planned. My involvement with design happened at a point where I discovered myself. Since I was 12, I loved tinkering with programs and creating. Instead of playing games, I focused on exploring programs, and when I combined this interest with music, I found my own path. I didn't stick too closely to university; I chose a freelance path for myself outside, and this brought me a lot. Of course, the university's contribution is significant, but creating your own signature comes from your external determination. The biggest advice I can give you is not to be limited to just four years; develop yourselves greatly outside as well.”

“Don't be afraid to make mistakes”

Emphasizing the importance of originality in design, Merter addressed young designers with the words, “Find your own style, create your signature. Don't be afraid to experiment, to make mistakes, because every mistake makes you more mature.”

The event continued with answers to questions from students.

Afterward, a certificate of appreciation was presented to Yusuf Enes Merter, and the event concluded with a group photo session.
