The event “7 Touches and a Case Presentation” was held within the scope of Disability Week, in collaboration with Üsküdar University Health Services Vocational School (SHMYO) Child Development Program and Child Protection and Care Services Program. The event, which addressed the developmental processes of individuals with autism and multidisciplinary working models, attracted great interest. In this context, attention was drawn to the concrete contributions of the synchronized collaboration of child development, psychology, occupational therapy, and special education fields to both the daily life quality and academic achievements of individuals with autism.

Innovative Approaches and Modern Therapies for Autism Discussed

The event, held in the Çarşı Campus Emirnebi 1 Conference Hall, aimed to raise social awareness and professional consciousness.
The program, held in two sessions, was moderated by Asst. Prof. Ümit Tuna, Head of the Child Protection and Care Services Program, and Selim Parlak, Chairman of the Board and Director of ABADEMY.
Guest speakers at the event included Assoc. Prof. Tuğçe Aksu Uzunhan, Child Neurology Specialist; Asst. Prof. Dilek Güller, Pediatric Gastroenterology Specialist; Assoc. Prof. Sinan Kalkan, ABADEMY Supervisor; Merve Şen, ABADEMY Coordinator; Nejla Güler, ABADEMY Assistant Coordinator; Nur Turhan, Psychologist from ABADEMY; İrem Nur Kalender, Occupational Therapist from ABADEMY; and Expert Psychologist Özge Özyurt from NAR Çocuk Anaokulu.

Evaluations Made Through Real Case Examples
At the event, organized with the participation of experts from various branches of ABADEMY Special Children Family Counseling and Development Center, the developmental processes of individuals with autism, innovative educational approaches, the role of family support, and therapy applications were comprehensively discussed.
During the event, where expert academics and practitioners served as speakers, the speakers emphasized the importance of collaborations carried out by different disciplines and made evaluations based on real case examples.
Attention Drawn to the Impact of Collaborative Work Culture on Quality of Life
During the sessions, the concrete contributions of the synchronized collaboration of child development, psychology, occupational therapy, and special education fields to both the daily life quality and academic achievements of individuals with autism were highlighted.


The Book “Seven Touches to Autism-ABA Therapy Stories” Was Also Gifted
At the end of the event, which aimed to increase students’ professional awareness while also drawing attention to social sensitivities, the book titled “Seven Touches to Autism-ABA Therapy Stories,” authored by Selim Parlak, Chairman of the Board and Director of ABADEMY, was presented as a gift to two students selected by raffle.
The event concluded with a group photo session.
