The 12th International Communication Days / “Media and Communication Studies in the Digital Age” Symposium, organized in cooperation with Üsküdar University Faculty of Communication and Baku State University, resonated widely in the Azerbaijani press. The event was extensively covered in both print media and digital news platforms.

The 12th International Communication Days (İFİG), the traditional academic event of Üsküdar University Faculty of Communication, is being held this year in Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan. The symposium, which took place between May 14-16, 2025, with the theme “Media and Communication Studies in the Digital Age,” also attracted the attention of the media in Azerbaijan. Many newspapers and news websites publishing in the country featured the event on their headlines.

The İFİG Symposium is being held at Baku State University, organized in cooperation with Üsküdar University Faculty of Communication and Baku State University Faculty of Journalism. Within the scope of the event, 285 papers are being presented in a total of 51 sessions, 19 face-to-face and 32 online. Presentations at the symposium are made in 3 languages: Turkish, Azerbaijani Turkish, and English.

The symposium also received extensive coverage in the Azerbaijani press. Leading newspapers of the country, such as 525. Gazete, Baku Haber, Halk Gazetesi, and İki Sahil Gazetesi, published comprehensive news about the event. Additionally, report.az, one of Azerbaijan's prominent online news platforms, shared detailed content about the symposium.

In the sessions held within the main theme of “media and communication in the digital age,” topics such as the effects of digitalization on media production and consumption, social media studies, digital ethics, artificial intelligence, journalism, and public relations are being discussed.

The interest shown by the Azerbaijani media in the event revealed the development of academic and cultural cooperation between Turkey and Azerbaijan, and once again highlighted the international nature of the symposium.
