The 'Artificial Intelligence and Design' event, moderated by Üsküdar Üniversitesi Faculty of Communication Visual Communication Design Department Head Prof. Dr. And Algül, garnered significant interest from students.
Okan Saykun, founder and creative director of Salvo Ajans, who was a guest at the online event, discussed the effects of artificial intelligence on design at our current point and what kind of professional world awaits us. Saykun stated: “We positioned ourselves as a more creative agency and were honored with 16 awards in a short period of two years. The common point of these awards is their focus on data. No matter how much artificial intelligence meets our needs as a tool, professionals in this sector must somehow capture these insights and turn them into a useful communication tool for brands and users alike.”
Salvo Ajans founder and creative director, Okan Saykun, explains the main reason for a newly established agency winning 16 awards in such a short time with the words: “Being a data-driven creative agency, for us, the most important thing is to embrace the new in some way, to pursue innovation.”
Knowing programs will no longer be important!
“There are always new things we can use in communication. When we consider how we can use something new in our profession, and combine it with insights and data, the impact of artificial intelligence on design will increase in the coming period. In the future, knowing programs in the field of design will not be very important; in other words, the effect of artificial intelligence on design will make things more practical,” he said.
Emphasizing the importance of innovation, Saykun said: “In the battle between the new and the old, I always hope that the new will somehow win, because the new will always allow us to bring our profession to different dimensions, and it will also allow us to love and develop our profession more.”
