A remote visit was conducted on November 18, 2025, to the Üsküdar Üniversitesi Faculty of Health Sciences, Nursing Department, which was included in the accreditation process by the Nursing Education Programs Evaluation and Accreditation Association (HEPDAK), followed by an on-site visit between November 30 and December 02, 2025.
During the visit, the HEPDAK evaluation team comprehensively assessed the educational and training processes, academic and administrative activities of the undergraduate nursing education program, as well as the administrative structure, operational processes, and physical infrastructure of Üsküdar Üniversitesi.
First Day at the Central Campus…
On the first day of the visit, the evaluation team held a meeting in the Senate hall of the central campus with Üsküdar Üniversitesi Rector Prof. Dr. Nazife Güngör, Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Hikmet Koçak, Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Türker Tekin Ergüzel, and Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences Prof. Dr. Arif Aktuğ Ertekin.
Comprehensive Presentation on the Nursing Department
Subsequently, Head of the Nursing Department Prof. Dr. Selma Doğan delivered a comprehensive presentation to the group, which included the evaluation team, university and faculty administrators, Quality Directorate, and faculty members of the Nursing Department. The presentation covered the establishment of Üsküdar Üniversitesi and the Nursing Department from its inception to the present, educational and academic activities, the accreditation preparation process, and the work carried out in education and other areas within the framework of HEPDAK standards.
Evaluation Team Conducted On-site Visits and Meetings…
The evaluation team then moved to the health campus, where they held separate meetings with faculty members, students, and representatives of administrative units, and observed classes in the classroom environment. They also examined the Nursing Skills Laboratory and other physical areas, and met with institutional administrators, responsible faculty members, and students from the hospitals where practical training is conducted.
The visit concluded on the last day with the team leader reading the final report.
