Prof. Dr. Nevzat Tarhan: “Active communication with our students is very important”
Üsküdar Üniversitesi Founding Rector Prof. Dr. Nevzat Tarhan, who delivered a speech within the scope of the iftar program, stated: “Our esteemed guests and dear professors, welcome and thank you for honoring us with your presence. I owe you thanks in two respects. Firstly, for accepting our invitation, and secondly, for touching the lives of our students... You are doing things that will leave a mark in our students' professional lives. Being beneficial to students and reaching out to young people who will serve the future of the country has a different impact on professional enthusiasm. Our profession is an art. The master-apprentice relationship is also learned in our profession and is one of the most important things. Each of our classes has a class representative, and we receive feedback from those students and make arrangements and improvements accordingly. In this way, we constantly try to see our deficiencies. Active communication with our students is very important. I don't know if you are aware of the beautiful traces you leave, but we see them very clearly. It is an honor for us to thank you on this occasion.”

Prof. Dr. Nazife Güngör: “The greatest strength of our university is this unique environment that blends love and science”
Üsküdar Üniversitesi Rector Prof. Dr. Nazife Güngör, speaking at the iftar program, said: “Whenever we gather here, whether for a scientific event or iftar, I always feel a wonderful flow of emotion within me. The greatest strength of our university is this environment that blends love and science. We have an energy based on learning, teaching, producing, and sharing, and this is the most important thing that makes us who we are. It is not just about teaching, but also about being a role model and setting an example while teaching, because that's what science is. Learning and teaching are also like that... When transferring knowledge, mere mental interaction is not enough; there must also be an emotional flow. Here, we achieve this, and we keep our hearts vibrant. We all share our experiences and learn by doing. The practical support provided by Memorial Hospital to our students and the guidance of our Ministry of Health to the field offer invaluable opportunities for them to reach their professional goals. I sincerely thank all of you for your support. Let's continue to meet here with the same enthusiasm.”

Prof. Dr. Hikmet Koçak: “Doctoring is a profession based on human love”
Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Hikmet Koçak, speaking at the program, said: “I thank all of you for accepting our invitation and breaking our fast together here. I graduated in 1978, but thinking about the time I've spent from my student days to today, I recall once again how important student life is. Perhaps the best part of being a student is not having responsibility. After graduation, everything depends on you because the responsibility is yours. At this point, I thank all of you for taking care of our students, educating them, and bringing them into contact with patients. No matter how much we explain theoretically, due to the nature of our profession, the master-apprentice relationship takes place in hospitals. At that point, a doctor needs to be well-trained so as not to fear patients in terms of knowledge. This happens thanks to you. Doctoring is a profession based on human love. If you don't love people, you cannot practice your profession.”

Prof. Dr. Haydar Sur: “We will graduate our intern doctors at the end of June”
Dean of the Faculty of Medicine Prof. Dr. Haydar Sur, expressing his excitement about graduating intern doctors, said: “Many people from different branches and disciplines uniting under the same professional umbrella and with the same excitement could only be this beautiful and exciting. The light at the end of the tunnel has appeared. We will graduate our intern doctors at the end of June. I extend my endless love and gratitude to our doctors and professors who have made great contributions to medicine.”

Sedat Şimşek: “How lucky we are…”
Sedat Şimşek, Director of Official Affairs for Memorial Health Group, spoke at the iftar dinner. Şimşek expressed his happiness by saying, “If our professors and we have made even small contributions to the development and upbringing of our students, how lucky we are…”
Davut Köseoğlu: “Üsküdar Üniversitesi has no other example”
Davut Köseoğlu, Deputy Head of Personnel Services for the Provincial Health Directorate, stating his pride on behalf of Üsküdar Üniversitesi, said: “We thank Üsküdar Üniversitesi very much for hosting us. There is no other example like Üsküdar Üniversitesi. I am proud on behalf of Üsküdar Üniversitesi. We collaborate with all universities in terms of internships and many other areas, but Üsküdar Üniversitesi is the only university that organizes this event… Therefore, I extend my special thanks.”

Tuğçe Uğur: “I am very lucky to have the opportunity to study here”
Tuğçe Uğur, 4th-year student representative of the Faculty of Medicine (English), expressing her satisfaction with the medical education she received at Üsküdar Üniversitesi, said: “At our white coat ceremony, I mentioned that our professors provided an excellent education, closely involved with us. Four years have passed since that ceremony. These feelings of mine have continued to grow. My professors hold a very special place in my heart, and the professors we met during our internships also guided us incredibly well. They ensured we got the best possible benefit from our internships. At the same time, I am proud to be in one of the rare faculties in Turkey that offers 100% English education. I am very lucky to have the opportunity to study here. This is a common problem where the department somehow reverts to Turkish, but this was not the case in our faculty. In the context of general surgery, our school provided us with a highly qualified group of instructors and education. I thank everyone very much.”

The iftar dinner, which began with a recitation of the Holy Quran, concluded with prayers.

Following the dinner, Prof. Dr. Nevzat Tarhan signed his book “Marriage Psychology” for his readers.
