An event titled “Healthcare Managers' Day” was organized by the Üsküdar Üniversitesi Healthcare Management Club. The event, held with the participation of many experts in their field, offered important advice to young people. Highlighting what needs to be done in a healthcare management career, the event received great interest from participants.
The event was attended by Üsküdar Üniversitesi Rector's Advisor Prof. Dr. Mehmet Zelka, Üsküdar Üniversitesi Healthcare Management Department Representative Şevval Çiloğlu, Cengiz Gül, a graduate of Konya Selçuk University Faculty of Medicine, Feyza Çetinkaya Kutun, Manager of Healthcare Services at II. Abdulhamid Han Training and Research Hospital, Sedat Şimşek, a graduate of Hacettepe Üniversitesi Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences, Department of Health Administration, and Adem Arslan, an Üsküdar Üniversitesi Healthcare Management graduate and Administrative Affairs and Quality Control Manager at Çakır Group.
Within the scope of the event, experts in their fields informed students about the areas in which they should improve themselves. Advice was also given regarding situations they might encounter after graduation.
Prof. Dr. Mehmet Zelka: “We must develop our human capital”
The opening speech of the event was delivered by Üsküdar Üniversitesi Rector's Advisor Prof. Dr. Mehmet Zelka. Zelka said; “In the future, you will also take on management positions. Until then, we must develop our human capital. We should feel this need. Human activities are all the unique characteristics that make us who we are, distinguishing a person from others. We must develop these characteristics.”
Şevval Çiloğlu: “Providing more effective solutions in this field is our common goal”
Speaking at the event, Üsküdar Üniversitesi Healthcare Management Department Representative Şevval Çiloğlu said; “Healthcare management is a critical field for developing and sustaining Turkey’s healthcare system. Providing more effective solutions in this field is our common goal. We are continuing our efforts in this direction.”
Cengiz Gül: “We provide a wide range of services”
Speaking at the event, Cengiz Gül, a graduate of Üsküdar Üniversitesi Faculty of Medicine, said; “My fellow students also know that we serve a very important sector. We provide a very wide range of services, not only related to hospital management but also in every area of healthcare…”
Feyza Çetinkaya Kutun: “Value your opinions”
Speaking at the event, Feyza Çetinkaya Kutun, Manager of Healthcare Services at II. Abdulhamid Han Training and Research Hospital, said; “If there is something on your mind, no matter your age, please value your opinions, give them importance.”
Sedat Şimşek: “Make sure you have a foreign language”
Speaking at the event, Sedat Şimşek, a graduate of Hacettepe Üniversitesi Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences, Department of Health Administration, said; “My advice to my fellow students is to definitely have a foreign language in topics related to your field. During your student years, decide which area of healthcare you want to specialize in…”
Adem Arslan: “I am happy to be here with you”
Adem Arslan, an Üsküdar Üniversitesi Healthcare Management graduate and Administrative Affairs and Quality Control Manager at Çakır Group, said; “I started my internship in my second year of university. I was inexperienced. I was looking around with empty eyes. I used to look at guests like us with surprise, just like you. I wondered what they did to be here, but now I am here too. I am happy to be here with you…”
The event concluded after participants' questions were answered.
