It's a good thing that such celebrations exist today.” he said.
Dr. Bilal Ak: “We continue the struggle”
Dr. Bilal Ak spoke about engaging in a struggle with the Healthcare Administration Associations Federation and the healthcare management graduates platform; “Even though healthcare management is a professional profession, healthcare managers face difficulties. These difficulties are related to appointment and employment. In this regard, a struggle has been launched together with the Healthcare Administration Associations Federation and the healthcare management graduates platform. Meetings were held with the Ministry and the parliament. The parliament is speaking on television about this issue. We explained our problems, and then a staff of 400 people was obtained. Currently, there are various announcements related to healthcare management graduates. These are important for us. Our main goal is to create healthcare management positions. Yesterday, our colleagues from healthcare management organized a TÜBİTAK event and rose to second place nationwide. We continue the struggle.” he stated.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ali Arslanoğlu: “Making mistakes develops a person”
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ali Arslanoğlu, lecturer at Health Sciences University, evaluated how a professional person should be; “People who have a profession and systematically practice it, receive a fee in return, constantly evolve, develop their knowledge and skills, adhere to ethical rules, and consider the interests of society and the nation are professionals. Professional life continues. So, who is a professional? First, they do their job well. They know their job down to the rules and principles of the profession, their prestige quality is high, and they have convinced everyone of this. Everyone knows how intelligent and hardworking that person is. They are very sensitive about time management. They know the infrastructure and operations very well, meaning they don't come from above. They have started from the lowest level of the profession, educating themselves with all knowledge. So, do they keep their knowledge and skill level constant? No, a professional is someone who constantly increases and develops their knowledge and skill level in an evolving, changing world, gains experience, and shares it somewhere. They know very well what is expected of them and act accordingly. They learn from mistakes and become more successful. They are not afraid to make mistakes because making mistakes develops a person.” he said.
Prof. Dr. Osman Erol Hayran: “Professional imperialism has been broken in some countries”
Prof. Dr. Osman Erol Hayran, faculty member at Medipol University Faculty of Medicine, Department of Internal Medical Sciences, drawing attention to the evolution of professionalization; “As some jobs transform into professions, they dedicate themselves to areas of power, authority, and responsibility. Where healthcare managers are now, there used to be chief physicians and head nurses. People with certain titles starting with 'chief.' Doctors manage hospitals and all healthcare institutions. In some countries, professional imperialism has been broken. The area of power has gradually been left to its true owners. A chief physician cannot manage healthcare businesses; healthcare managers should manage them. This evolutionary process started very early in the USA. Professionalization has occurred. 'Healthcare Management' has become an independent profession. It has become so independent that for a while, there was a conflict between those in suits and those in white coats in the USA. While the conflict of 'Are those in white coats or those in suits more powerful?' was ongoing in the healthcare sector, healthcare management found its course.” he stated.
The event concluded after a group photo session.
