Prof. Dr. Arif Aktuğ Ertekin: “The share of health services has increased over the years”
Delivering the opening speeches of the health symposium, the Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences, Prof. Dr. Arif Aktuğ Ertekin, stated that Turkey developed its health services by overcoming challenging paths. Ertekin said; “As the Faculty of Health Sciences, we are celebrating the 100th Anniversary of Our Republic once again. Health should be evaluated in three areas; one is the service leg, one is the education leg, and one is the research leg. In the early years of our Republic, as a society emerging from war, we were almost reborn. The healthcare system of the Republic of Turkey was trying to stand on its feet, and it went through difficult paths. One of the foremost topics is related to preventive health services… In fact, the issue of health has always been scrutinized even before the republic, and various investments have been made in this regard. The share of health services has increased over the years. We have young colleagues among us, and I hope they will show the necessary effort to bring our work to better places. There is a lot of work in our country in recent years, and the citations you receive for your work are important.”
Prof. Dr. Hikmet Koçak: “Whatever profession we are in, we must be the best”
In the symposium, Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Hikmet Koçak, emphasizing that no investment made in health will go to waste, said; “The future will be built with lessons learned from the past. If we don't know our past well, we cannot be very hopeful about the future. Our Faculty of Health Sciences represents our university as a locomotive. We are trying to carry out health services as a whole here. The time you spend acquiring knowledge is important, but preserving and developing it is even more important. Investments made in health are never a waste; they do not go to naught. Everyone needs health. Whatever profession we are in, we must be the best. We must work that way. Our university has expectations from you, just as you have expectations. Our goal is to graduate you well.”
