Üsküdar Üniversitesi continues to attract attention with its support for international health projects. Dr. Müzeyyen Seda Altop, Faculty Member of the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Üsküdar Üniversitesi Faculty of Dentistry, took part in a health organization in Uganda, following her previous involvement in the African countries of Burundi and Madagascar. In the oral and dental health project carried out in cooperation with the Ugandan Ministry of Health, the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA), and the Association of Friends of All Africa (TADD), 1,200 patients were also served under the supervision of Dr. Altop.

1,200 patients treated
Within the scope of the health services provided at Jinja Referral Hospital in Jinja, Uganda, between July 19-31, oral and dental health treatments were performed for 1,200 patients.
Training and surgical operations performed
Dr. Altop shared knowledge by providing both theoretical and practical training to local physicians. She also performed maxillofacial surgery operations together with healthcare professionals in Uganda.

Previously involved in Burundi and Madagascar
Dr. Müzeyyen Seda Altop, Faculty Member, had previously been involved in the African countries of Burundi and Madagascar. Altop now took part in the health organization held in Uganda.
Altop had previously also taken part in the “Burundi Oral and Dental Health” project, organized with the support of the Association of Friends of All Africa (TADD) and the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA). Within this scope, the project, hosted by Angelina Ndaishimiye, the First Lady of Burundi, and the Embassy of Burundi, had received significant attention from national radio, television channels, and newspapers.
Subsequently, within the scope of a health organization held in Madagascar between September 7-20, in cooperation with the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA) and the Hands Giving Lives Association, doctors were provided with training in ENT and maxillofacial surgery. Additionally, 170 patients were served under the supervision of Dr. Altop.
Üsküdar continues to contribute to global health
Üsküdar Üniversitesi's involvement in this important project not only contributed to the spread of qualified health services across borders but also reaffirmed the university's responsibility in the field of global health.
