The book chapter, originally titled “Health Literacy and Cyberchondria,” is meeting its readers within the international book “Cyberchondria, Health Literacy, and the Role of Media on Society’s Perception of Medical Information,” published by IGI Global.

“Tarhan Offers a Conceptual Perspective on Cyberchondria and Health Literacy”
In the study “Health Literacy and Cyberchondria,” authored by Üsküdar University Founding Rector Prof. Dr. Nevzat Tarhan, Üsküdar University Faculty Member Assoc. Prof. Dr. Aylin Tutgun Ünal, and Healthcare New Media Specialist Yücel Ekinci, a conceptual perspective on Cyberchondria and Health Literacy is presented. Subsequently, a comprehensive list of internationally developed measurement tools is provided to the reader. The book examines the relationship between Health Literacy and Cyberchondria, supported by research.
For the book, over 1000 national and international sources worldwide regarding Cyberchondria and Health Literacy were examined. The book was edited by Assistant Professor Dr. Hacer Aker from Selçuk University and Mary Aiken (University of East London, UK).
