Graduates of the Health Care Management Program within Üsküdar University Vocational School of Health Services (VSHS) came together in an online event. During the event, graduates shared their professional experiences and career journeys with fellow alumni and current students.

The online event was moderated by Asst. Prof. Öznur Karaoğlu, Head of the Health Care Management Program, and Remziye Çopur, Director of the Career Center.

Speakers at the event included 2017 graduate Tuğçe Kaptan, Human Resources Manager at Göztepe Medical Park Hospital; 2014 graduate Serdar Kamburoğlu, Human Resources Manager at İstadental Dental Clinic; and 2019 graduate Vedat Çam, Patient Consultant at Koşuyolu Medipol Hospital.

Asst. Prof. Öznur Karaoğlu emphasized that graduates’ sharing of their experiences increases student motivation.

She stated, “It is truly a source of pride for us to see our graduates succeed in the sector. These meetings play a significant role in the professional development of our students.”

Real experiences serve as guidance

The graduates discussed the challenges they faced when stepping into the health care sector, the opportunities within professional life, and key factors they encountered on the path to success.
Particular emphasis was placed on current topics such as management processes in private hospitals, human resources practices, and digital transformation.

The first step in a career usually begins with entry-level roles

Vedat Çam, currently working as a Patient Consultant at Koşuyolu Medipol Hospital, highlighted that starting a career in hospitals often begins with entry-level roles and underlined the importance of these roles for professional development.

Effective communication is indispensable in health care management

Tuğçe Kaptan, Human Resources Manager at Göztepe Medical Park Hospital, stated that effective communication is essential in health care management and emphasized its decisive role in team harmony and patient satisfaction.

Certificates and foreign language skills are highly valuable

Serdar Kamburoğlu, Human Resources Manager at İstadental Dental Clinic, pointed out the importance of sector-related certificates and foreign language proficiency in career advancement. He advised students to pursue such qualifications before graduation to gain a significant advantage.

Advice provided on career planning

Throughout the event, graduates were asked questions about job opportunities in the sector, internship options, and promotion criteria. In return, the graduates offered insightful and experience-based advice to guide students in planning their careers.
