The 2024 Board of Directors meeting of the Haydi Tut Elimi Rehabilitation Education and Aid Association, which has been operating within Üsküdar University since 2010, was held under the chairmanship of Üsküdar University Founding Rector and Haydi Tut Elimi Association Board Chairman Prof. Dr. Nevzat Tarhan. During the meeting, activities carried out throughout the year and potential future collaborations were discussed.

The meeting held at the Central Campus Senate hall was attended by Üsküdar University Founding Rector and Haydi Tut Elimi Association Board Chairman Prof. Dr. Nevzat Tarhan, Head of Commissions Prof. Dr. İsmail Barış, Secretary General Ayşe Banu Gönenci, Project and Education Commission Vice President Asst. Prof. Nebiye Yaşar, Health Activities Vice President Asst. Prof. Fatma Turan, Deputy Secretary General and Press and Public Relations Vice President Ayşegül Şekli, Social Activities Vice President Serpil Tarhan, Üsküdar University Secretary General Selçuk Uysaler, Head of Corporate Communications Nur Akman, and Media PR Unit Manager Şaban Özdemir.

During the meeting, activities carried out with the support of the Haydi Tut Elimi Association, Üsküdar University Haydi Tut Elimi Club, and Positive Psychology Club were discussed.

Prof. Dr. Nevzat Tarhan: “Teamwork is very important in the 21st century”

Üsküdar University Founding Rector and Haydi Tut Elimi Association Board Chairman Prof. Dr. Nevzat Tarhan emphasized that teamwork is extremely important in the 21st century. Tarhan pointed out that the importance and influence of NGOs are increasing globally, noting in this context that the work of the Haydi Tut Elimi Association is very significant.  

Nationwide social responsibility activities were carried out… 

Haydi Tut Elimi Association Secretary General Ayşe Banu Güngenci gave a presentation on their year-long activities during the meeting. Highlighting the association's activities, Güngenci detailed the social responsibility projects undertaken by the Haydi Tut Elimi Association in 2024. 

Earthquake-affected regions were not forgotten…

Güngenci stated that the Haydi Tut Elimi Association organized multiple children's festivals throughout 2024 and provided aid to those in need in earthquake-affected regions. She also mentioned that the support provided by Üsküdar volunteers was very meaningful to them. 

In her presentation, Güngenci also drew attention to the social responsibility projects carried out with volunteers in Adıyaman, Kastamonu, Hatay, and Kocaeli.

Hundreds of earthquake-affected children were reached…

Throughout the year, volunteers delivered aid to the earthquake-affected regions of Adıyaman, Hatay, and Kahramanmaraş as part of social responsibility projects. Meeting with hundreds of children, the volunteers from Üsküdar organized children's festivals and workshops in the schools they visited.

Students gathered for the “Little Hands, Big Hopes” project

As part of the “Little Hands, Big Hopes” social responsibility project, volunteers from Üsküdar met with students at Kastamonu Atabeyli Primary and Secondary School and provided stationery, books, clothes, and lunchbox support.

The “NGOs at University” project is also being carried out…

The “NGOs at University” project continues in partnership with Üsküdar University, coordinated by the Haydi Tut Elimi Association. The project aims to support the strengthening of the legal basis for NGOs, enhance their quality, increase their participation in decision-making processes, and bolster their financial structure and human resources during Turkey's development process.

Addiction combat and child abuse awareness activities are being carried out… 

As the Haydi Tut Elimi Club and Haydi Tut Elimi Association, two separate presentations titled “Youth Presentation on Combating Addiction and Child Abuse” were held in cooperation with the Üsküdar District Police Department. Young people were brought together within the scope of these presentations.

Aid had been delivered to those in the region immediately after the earthquake…

The Haydi Tut Elimi Association, Üsküdar University Health Culture and Sports Directorate, and Üsküdar University volunteer students had met with children in the earthquake-affected regions of Kahramanmaraş and Hatay after the earthquake. Within the scope of the organized project, aid was delivered to the region, and a holiday celebration event was held with the children. 

After discussions about potential collaborations in the organized meeting, the meeting concluded with a group photo.

Why does the Haydi Tut Elimi Association exist?

Established in 2010 with the support of a few volunteers, the Haydi Tut Elimi Association carries out activities aimed at closely assisting children who have been neglected, abused, subjected to violence, and pushed into crime. The association conducts protective mental health, well-being, and positive psychological strengthening activities to protect children and young people aged 0-18, and operates with the aim of supporting their reintegration into society, ensuring their return to families, and completing their social rehabilitation.
