A “Career Promotion Seminar” with the theme “Guide Your Career” was organized in cooperation with Üsküdar University and Sancaktepe District National Education Directorate. In the seminar, academics from various departments introduced their professions in two separate sessions, contributing to the career planning of young people. Academics shared up-to-date information about many fields such as medicine, psychology, communication, and health sciences with prospective students, and also provided information about university life, education processes, domestic and international opportunities, and post-graduation career prospects.

Future professions explained in Sancaktepe

Üsküdar University Faculty of Medicine, Head of Family Medicine Department Asst. Prof. Ayhan Özşahin, Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Head of Psychology (English) Department Asst. Prof. Elif Kurtuluş Anarat, Üsküdar University Vocational School of Health Services (VSHS) Director Asst. Prof. Ömer Faruk Karasakal, Faculty of Communication, Visual Communication Design Department Asst. Prof. Ebru Karadoğan, Faculty of Health Sciences, Midwifery Department Research Assistant Aleyna Yıldız and Faculty of Communication, Public Relations and Promotion Department Research Assistant Mustafa Ekim Atay attended the seminar held at Sancaktepe Şehit Yüzbaşı Yusuf Kenan Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School.

Üsküdar Medicine explained to high school students
Head of Family Medicine Department of the Faculty of Medicine, Asst. Prof. Ayhan Özşahin, explained the Faculty of Medicine to the students.
Stating that “Medicine is not just a profession, but a way of life,” Özşahin provided a comprehensive assessment in his speech, ranging from the establishment process of the Faculty of Medicine to its educational infrastructure, students' academic achievements, and his own professional experiences, emphasizing that medicine is a lifestyle requiring sacrifice, discipline, and dedication.

Educational structure of the Psychology Department examined
Head of Psychology (English) Department of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Asst. Prof. Elif Kurtuluş Anarat, explained the Psychology department to the students.
Stating that “Our Psychology students open up to the world with Erasmus,” Anarat highlighted Erasmus opportunities in her presentation, explaining that students can receive education within the scope of study and traineeship mobility in European universities, gain experience in international research centers, and develop a global academic vision with scholarship support.

The world of design attracted students' attention
Faculty of Communication, Visual Communication Design Department Asst. Prof. Ebru Karadoğan introduced the Visual Communication Design department to the students.
Karadoğan mentioned that the department brings together different fields such as graphic design, media, and film studies. It was also stated that students can prepare for a wide range of career fields, from advertising agencies to the television industry, with a modular course structure and practical training.

All opportunities of VSHS explained
Vocational School of Health Services (VSHS) Director Asst. Prof. Ömer Faruk Karasakal explained all the details of VSHS to high school students.
Karasakal stated that VSHS also offers double major opportunities in associate degree programs, and students who meet the required GPA can study a second program and graduate with two diplomas.

FHS Departments met with interest
Faculty of Health Sciences, Midwifery Department RA Aleyna Yıldız provided information about the departments in the Faculty of Health Sciences.
Stating that “Üsküdar University offers versatile career opportunities to its students,” Yıldız conveyed that the faculty provides education in 12 different fields. Yıldız noted that in addition to undergraduate programs, the faculty also offers master's and doctoral opportunities, and students can diversify their education with double major and minor programs.

Broad career opportunities in public relations and promotion shared
Faculty of Communication, Public Relations and Promotion Department RA Mustafa Ekim Atay explained the Public Relations and Promotion department to the students.
Stating that “Public relations educates professionals who can establish strong communication,” Atay conveyed that his department is a field that manages institutions' media, crisis, and reputation processes. Atay noted that the department includes current courses ranging from artificial intelligence to political communication, and graduates have broad career opportunities in agencies, companies, and public institutions.
