Authored by Üsküdar University Rector's Advisor, Head of Chemical Engineering Department, Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences, Prof. Dr. Selahattin Gültekin, the book "Fundamentals of Chemical Reaction Engineering" has taken its place on the shelves in two languages, Turkish and English.
Being a bilingual book holds great importance!
Prof. Dr. Selahattin Gültekin compiled his notes used in Chemical Reaction Engineering (CRE) courses at various universities both abroad (Saudi Arabia, Malaysia, Kyrgyzstan) and in Turkey. Gültekin emphasized that preparing a bilingual book, especially for students whose English proficiency is insufficient, is of great importance for both students in Turkey and foreign students studying in our region.
Gültekin stated that the book was prepared for undergraduate students; and emphasized that the book would also be of great benefit to students in the first CRE course at the postgraduate level, adding that almost all English-published books in the field of CRE were scanned during the preparation phase of the book to simplify expressions and concepts.”
Prof. Dr. Selahattin Gültekin, who took a one-year sabbatical leave from Üsküdar University in the 2016-2017 academic year and went to Kyrgyzstan’s Kyrgyzstan-Turkey Manas University, carried out work related to the book while teaching chemical engineering courses.
Prof. Dr. Nevzat Tarhan: “This fundamental book will be a very good starting point”
In the introductory section of the work, the thoughts of Üsküdar University Founding Rector Prof. Dr. Nevzat Tarhan were included. Tarhan stated; “Chemical engineering is becoming increasingly important as the field of engineering sciences that bridges nature and energy. Especially with the advent of nanotechnologies and the discussion of computational biology and neuropsychology today, the path for artificial intelligence solutions has been opened. While how chemical reactions change with temperature variation draws attention as the future of chemistry and a revolution in drug technologies, this fundamental book will be a very good starting point.” he expressed his thoughts.
