Prof. Dr. İbrahim Özdemir, Faculty Member of the Philosophy Department, Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Üsküdar University, penned a remarkable article about the 'Feeling Human' sculpture, a symbol of Üsküdar University.

Here is Özdemir’s article:

From the Feeling Human to the Feeling University!

The “Feeling Human” sculpture is located in front of Üsküdar University. It carries profound messages in both art and philosophy.

This sculpture emphasizes that human sensory and internal experiences carry a deeper meaning than thought and logic. It particularly prompts reflection on human emotional intelligence and empathy.

In the context of the international student vision, this sculpture symbolizes that the university offers students not only academic knowledge but also an education based on emotion and humanity.

The “Feeling Human” figure reminds us that developing intercultural understanding and empathy is a fundamental element of being effective in the global world.

The multicultural environment offered by Üsküdar University to its international students provides an ideal ground for students from different backgrounds to understand each other and develop their emotional intelligence.

This sculpture is a symbol of the university's educational approach that, alongside academic excellence, prioritizes a deeper understanding of humanity and universal values.

International students not only acquire technical knowledge but also find the opportunity to explore the world with a more empathetic and human-centered perspective.”
