Young people gathered in Kastamonu within the scope of the “From Shadow to Light” Project, implemented in cooperation with Üsküdar Üniversitesi and Kastamonu Associations Federation (KASDERFED), with the support of the General Directorate of Civil Society Relations of the Ministry of Interior, and under the patronage of the Istanbul Governorship. Many activities such as interviews, museum visits, graffiti events, and excursions were carried out during the program. At the meeting, which aimed to raise awareness among young people in areas such as social awareness, volunteerism, and leadership, participants were also presented with Prof. Dr. Nevzat Tarhan’s book “Bilinçli Genç Olmak” (Being a Conscious Young Person).

Kastamonu Deputy Governor Ahmet Atılgan, former Minister of Interior Murat Başesgioğlu, Üsküdar Üniversitesi Young Brains Academy Director and Social Contribution Coordinator Dr. Lecturer Nebiye Yaşar, Üsküdar Üniversitesi Faculty of Medicine Dr. Lecturer Ayhan Özşahin, Kastamonu Associations Federation (KASDERFED) President Fatma Kıranoğlu, ITO Council Member İshak Koçoğlu, and İlim ve Fazilet Schools Founder Mahmut Ekşi attended the program.

The opening speech of the program was delivered by Fatma Kıranoğlu, President of Kastamonu Associations Federation (KASDERFED). Subsequently, ITO Council Member İshak Koçoğlu, Kastamonu Deputy Governor Ahmet Atılgan, and former Minister of Interior Murat Başesgioğlu addressed the youth.


Social Awareness, Volunteerism, and Leadership Were Discussed
Within the scope of the program, Üsküdar Üniversitesi Young Brains Academy Director and Social Contribution Coordinator Dr. Lecturer Nebiye Yaşar addressed the youth. Yaşar provided information on strengthening young people's social awareness, volunteerism, and leadership capacities.
Üsküdar Üniversitesi Faculty of Medicine Dr. Lecturer Ayhan Özşahin, on the other hand, gave a speech about safe behavior in nature and living in harmony with nature.


Many Activities Carried Out Within the Scope of the Program
The program, which continued with the graffiti works done by the youth, proceeded with an excursion. The young people who visited Horma Canyon also met with Pınarbaşı Mayor Serkan Arı. In this context, discussions were held on Kastamonu's natural riches, canyons, and cultural significance. Kastamonu Youth and Sports Provincial Director Sami Kuşçu, Kastamonu businessman Hayati Yazıcıoğlu, Amorium Hotel Owner Enüs Koç, and Vedat Tek Cultural Center Director İlknur Acar also attended the visit.
Tarhan’s Book “Bilinçli Genç Olmak” Was Gifted
At the end of the program, all young people were presented with the book “Bilinçli Genç Olmak” (Being a Conscious Young Person) by Üsküdar Üniversitesi Founding Rector, Psychiatrist Prof. Dr. Nevzat Tarhan.
