Within the scope of the Interview Lab events organized by the Üsküdar University Career Center Directorate, Karnaval Media Group met with students. At the event titled “From Communication to Career: The Power of Making an Impact”, career management in the field of communication was discussed. Important information regarding career planning, CV preparation, and recruitment processes was also shared within the scope of the event.

The event, held at Üsküdar University South Campus Socrates Hall, hosted Sinem Afacan, Human Resources Manager of Karnaval Media Group.

Sinem Afacan: “If you know what you want, your path opens up faster”

Sinem Afacan, who presented her talk titled 'Career Management and Recruitment Processes', emphasized that the most important step in career management is for an individual to correctly determine what they want. Afacan said; 'A CV without a goal means a candidate who cannot express themselves in a job interview. If you know what you want, your path opens up faster.'”

Afacan touched upon the key criteria that Human Resources specialists consider when evaluating candidates, and shared practical information with students about the points they should pay attention to during their preparation for business life.

Attention drawn to CV preparation techniques

Afacan, who also touched upon CV preparation techniques in her speech, listed the essential elements that an effective resume must include as follows:

Completeness of contact information,

Clearly stating the career objective section,

Including internship experiences and student club activities,

Developing Excel and basic digital competencies,

Avoiding excessively long texts.

Students shared their career goals

During the event, students also took the floor to share their career plans. While a student aiming to pursue a career in Psychology spoke about their double major goal, a student studying Public Relations stated their intention to pursue a master's degree in Human Resources.

Sinem Afacan answered students' questions and offered personal advice regarding their career plans.

The program concluded with a Q&A session where students asked about their curiosities regarding the business world and recruitment processes.
