French balconies pose safety risks

Experts, drawing attention to the safety risks posed by French balconies, which are not standard balcony sizes, do not accommodate chairs and tables, and are used solely for ventilation, stated that safety conditions should be established for the widespread use of French balconies and inspections should be increased. Prof. Dr. Rüştü Uçan said, “The height should be at least 90 cm, and the distance between horizontal connections should be at least 15 cm. Preferably, vertical connections with a maximum distance of 15 cm between them should be used, not horizontal ones.”
