The first stakeholder meeting of the “Healthy Relationships, Strong Marriages” project, approved by the Ministry of Interior and implemented under the leadership of the Kocaeli Associations Federation, was held in Dilovası. In the project, conducted under the scientific consultancy of Üsküdar Üniversitesi and supported by Dilovası District Governorate and Dilovası Municipality, trainings, counseling services, and social awareness activities are planned to strengthen the family institution and support marriages on a healthy basis. Stakeholders attending the meeting highlighted that strong families are the foundation of social peace.
Attending the meeting were Dilovası District Governor Dr. Metin Kubilay, Dilovası Mayor Ramazan Ömeroğlu, Üsküdar Üniversitesi Social Contribution Coordinator and Young Brains Academy Director Assistant Professor Dr. Nebiye Yaşar and Faculty of Medicine Lecturer Assistant Professor Dr. Ayhan Özşahin, Project Coordinator and Family Counselor Bahriye Gürpınar Geredeli, ITO Council Member and Businessman İshak Koçoğlu, and Science and Virtue Foundation President Mahmut Ekşi.
Trainings will be organized to guide couples
At the meeting, efforts to strengthen the family institution, support marriages on a healthy basis, and permanently build social peace were discussed. The project aims to create a lasting impact on society, especially through trainings, counseling services, and social awareness activities that will guide young couples in pre-marital and post-marital processes.
Ramazan Ömeroğlu: “A strong marriage is the foundation of a healthy society”
Dilovası Mayor Ramazan Ömeroğlu expressed his views on the project. Ömeroğlu said; “We are not only supporting this project but also taking responsibility as a municipality. From now on, we will make it mandatory for couples applying to our municipality for marriage to undergo this training. Because a strong marriage is the foundation of a healthy society.”
Dr. Metin Kubilay: “The peace of our society begins with the family”
Dilovası District Governor Dr. Metin Kubilay drew attention to the project's contribution to society. Kubilay stated; “The peace of our society begins with the family. With this project, we are paving the way for healthy generations by offering accurate information, guidance, and support to our youth and couples. As Dilovası, we are proud to take an exemplary step.”
Assistant Professor Dr. Nebiye Yaşar: “With this project, we aim to open the paths to happiness”
Üsküdar Üniversitesi Social Contribution Coordinator Assistant Professor Dr. Nebiye Yaşar emphasized the importance of the family. Yaşar said; “The family is a source of security and belonging for individuals, not only socially but also psychologically. With this project, we aim to open the paths to lasting happiness by offering scientific support to couples before and after marriage.”
Assistant Professor Dr. Ayhan Özşahin: “The most important element in public health is family integrity”
Head of Family Medicine Department, Üsküdar Üniversitesi Faculty of Medicine, Assistant Professor Dr. Ayhan Özşahin emphasized public health. Özşahin stated; “The most important element in maintaining public health and social peace is family integrity. This project, through academic and field collaboration, will contribute to establishing marriages on a healthy foundation.”
Mahmut Ekşi: “With this project, we are building tomorrow's peaceful society”
Science and Virtue Foundation President Mahmut Ekşi expressed his views on the project. Ekşi stated; “For us, the greatest responsibility is to protect the family institution. With this project, we are building not only today but also tomorrow's peaceful society. May our partnership be auspicious and fruitful.”
İshak Koçoğlu: “Success in the business world begins with peace in the family”
ITO Council Member and Businessman İshak Koçoğlu stated that they wholeheartedly support the project. Koçoğlu said; “Success in the business world begins with peace in the family. I wholeheartedly support this project. Because strong families mean a strong society and a strong Turkey.”
Bahriye Gürpınar Geredeli: “We will be honored to guide young couples”
Kocaeli Associations Federation (KOCADEF) President, Project Coordinator, Expert Family Counselor Bahriye Gürpınar Geredeli stated that guiding young people would be beneficial. Geredeli said; “Every marriage is a new beginning. To ensure these beginnings are strong, healthy, and conscious, we, as the Kocaeli Associations Federation (KOCADEF), have taken a significant step in our Dilovası District, which we selected as a pilot region. With the ‘Healthy Relationships, Strong Marriages’ Family Academy Project, easily accessible to families and newly married couples, we will be honored to guide young couples and families with our trainings and counseling services.”
Üsküdar Üniversitesi undertakes the scientific consultancy of the project
Üsküdar Üniversitesi will undertake the scientific consultancy of the project, contributing from the perspective of family psychology, communication, and social innovation. The collaboration between the District Governorate and the Municipality will enable the dissemination of programs to be implemented in the field and their reach to broad segments of society.
