The fifth R&D-Focused Extended Senate Meeting was held by the Üsküdar University R&D and Innovation Policies Directorate. Project presentations were made at the meeting, which took place with the participation of senate members and academics. Projects presented in many different fields, from history to science, were met with great interest.

The meeting held at the Ibn-i Sina Auditorium of Üsküdar University NP Health Campus was attended by senate members and academics, especially Üsküdar University Founding Rector, Psychiatrist Prof. Dr. Nevzat Tarhan.

Prof. Dr. Nevzat Tarhan Drew Attention to Positive Psychology-Based Projects
Psychiatrist Prof. Dr. Nevzat Tarhan wished success to project owners and provided information about projects conducted in the field of positive psychology. Tarhan emphasized the importance of preventative approaches for disease prevention; “What can be done to prevent people from getting sick? Positive psychotherapy covers treatment and recovery areas. Primary prevention, secondary prevention – which is the identification of risk groups – and tertiary prevention, which we call REHAKOR studies aimed at preventing disease recurrence, play an important role. Especially in addictions and suicide attempts, the creation of self-safety plans can be evaluated within this scope. All these studies are carried out with various projects. With the declaration of the ‘Family Year’, our project is also ready to take its place among the projects implemented throughout Turkey.” he said.

Prof. Dr. Türker Tekin Ergüzel Made an R&D Information Presentation
Üsküdar University Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Türker Tekin Ergüzel delivered the opening speeches of the meeting. Ergüzel, who began his speech with an R&D information presentation, shared the number of projects by researchers. Ergüzel; “As of May 15th, we reached 130 publications in the first 135 days of the year. This corresponds to an average of 0.96 publications per day. This is a level never reached in our university's history.” he said.



Project Presentations Were Held Within the Scope of the Meeting
Assistant Professor Dr. Muhammed Fatih Kavak from Üsküdar University Faculty of Health Sciences, Department of Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation, presented his project titled “Effect of Next Generation Ultrasound-Curcumin Combined Transauricular Vagus Nerve Stimulation on Rheumatoid Arthritis”.
Güler Kalay, Assistant Director of Üsküdar University Political Psychology Application and Research Center, presented her talk titled “The Role of the Crimean Tatar Diaspora in the Peace Process”.
Dr. Emre Uyar from Üsküdar University Faculty of Medicine, Department of Physiology, presented his talk titled “Agmatine Intervention in Methotrexate-Induced Cognitive Impairments”.
Assistant Professor Dr. Mehmet Kaan İldiz from Üsküdar University Software Engineering, presented his talk titled “Crafting”.
Bayram Güneş, Supported Projects Specialist at Üsküdar University, presented his talk titled “R&D executive board”.
Assistant Professor Dr. Fatma Turan, Coordinator of Positive Psychology at Üsküdar University, introduced projects carried out in the field of Positive Psychology club activities and research support, and received feedback and suggestions from Prof. Dr. Nevzat Tarhan.

After the project presentations, Prof. Dr. Nevzat Tarhan presented seedling certificates to the project owners.
