Üsküdar University Faculty of Medicine's first Academic General Assembly meeting for the 2020-2021 academic year was held via Zoom with the participation of Üsküdar University Founding Rector Prof. Dr. Nevzat Tarhan, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine Prof. Dr. Haydar Sur, and its academicians.
During the meeting, information was provided on the general operational procedures to be implemented in the 2020-2021 academic year.
“Those who produce new information can survive”
Prof. Dr. Nevzat Tarhan stated that as Üsküdar University, they prioritize innovative policies, and emphasized that globally, only societies that produce new information can survive. Tarhan highlighted that academicians have three fundamental functions: educating students, conducting research and development, and informing society.
“We must engage in mental incubation”
Emphasizing the importance of project generation, Tarhan said, “We need to engage in mental incubation regarding projects. We must set an example for students by realizing projects. We should learn new things from every patient. Quality is currently the most important currency in the world. When treating a patient, doing quality work opens new avenues and reduces our margin of error.”
