Üsküdar University Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences has achieved a significant success in line with its goal of academic quality and excellence in education. The Philosophy and Sociology undergraduate programs within the faculty have been granted full accreditation for 5 years as a result of the 2025 evaluation process carried out by the Association for Evaluation and Accreditation of Teaching Programs of Faculties of Science, Letters, Science-Letters, Language and History-Geography (FEDEK).

Double accreditation from FEDEK for the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences!
Accreditation from FEDEK until 2031
Within the scope of the 2025 Evaluation Period, the Sociology and Philosophy Undergraduate Programs, which underwent general evaluations for the first time and renewed according to FEDEK criteria, were granted accreditation after detailed examinations.
The accreditation period for both programs has been set to be valid between April 02, 2026, and September 30, 2031. As of April 07, 2026, the programs have taken their place on FEDEK’s official list of accredited programs.
This significant development once again demonstrated Üsküdar University's understanding of sustainable quality in education and its commitment to compliance with national standards.

A comprehensive evaluation process lasting 3 days had taken place
The accreditation decision was made after an intensive, three-day evaluation process conducted at the faculty.
Throughout the process, the departments';
- Academic and administrative structure,
- Curriculum content,
- Learning outcomes,
- Measurement and evaluation systems,
- Academic staff qualifications, and
- Were comprehensively examined within the framework of quality improvement mechanisms.

During the meetings held within the scope of the visit, the university's quality assurance approach was discussed from a holistic perspective.
Detailed evaluations regarding quality policies were conducted with the senior management during the discussions held in the Senate hall.
A holistic approach to academic quality was demonstrated
In the presentations made by the faculty management, attention was drawn to the multidimensional structure of the understanding of quality in social sciences. It was emphasized that the main goal is to educate individuals who encourage critical thinking, are sensitive to ethical values, and can produce solutions to societal problems.
It was stated that accreditation processes are an integral part of this holistic quality culture.

Learning environments and stakeholder opinions were evaluated
During the evaluation process, classrooms, laboratories, and academic infrastructure were examined on-site.
Feedback regarding the effectiveness of the programs was received during meetings held with students and external stakeholders. Additionally, the contributions of administrative units and support services were also thoroughly evaluated.

An important step in the institutional quality journey
FEDEK accreditation stands out as a strong indicator of Üsküdar University's quality-oriented education vision and its understanding of continuous improvement. The achievement of this success by the Sociology and Philosophy programs within the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences constitutes an important factor of confidence, both in the academic community and in terms of student preferences.
Üsküdar University aims to further elevate its quality standards and increase its competitiveness at national and international levels in the upcoming period.
