Üsküdar Üniversitesi Faculty of Health Sciences academicians gathered for their last day together at the Çarşı campus. The Faculty of Health Sciences, which will continue its education at the Np Dentistry and Health Campus as of the new term, organized an end-of-term closing event with its academicians. At the event where department faculty members came together, everyone shared their feelings and thoughts about the transition process to the new campus and the end-of-term closing.
Prof. Dr. Arif Aktuğ Ertekin: “Many scientific studies emerge from Health Sciences when we are together”
At the meeting held in the garden of the Health Campus, Üsküdar Üniversitesi Faculty of Health Sciences Dean Prof. Dr. Arif Aktuğ Ertekin extended his thanks to all academicians for their dedicated work. Ertekin said: “Dear friends, we have wrapped up a term, with its ups and downs, difficulties and ease. Of course, leaving Çarşı is not easy. Çarşı had a unique spirit, but as you know, we fulfill our duties wherever we are assigned. We have always been together in a rush; this time, we wanted an environment where we could at least see each other's faces and exchange a few words. My friends suggested this, and Ms. Tuğba worked very hard for it. I wanted us to be together. I was very pleased and enjoyed being with you all, outside of the usual rush. Up there, of course, it will be an arrangement where we haven't worked before, where we will be working for the first time. After taking on this duty, I received a lot of support from all my professors. Thank you very much for your dedicated work. Both on my behalf and on behalf of our deanship, I hope we will have more enjoyable, more productive, and better work up there, because health units will always be together. Medicine will also be together; when we are together like this, many scientific studies emerge from Health Sciences. I thank you all once again.”
Prof. Dr. Ahmet Konrot: “The Faculty of Health Sciences is an institution that needs to be together”
Üsküdar Üniversitesi Faculty of Health Sciences Head of the Department of Speech and Language Therapy, Prof. Dr. Ahmet Konrot, spoke about the many common points among the departments of the Faculty of Health Sciences. Konrot said: “I started at the central campus, and I was here for a term. After that, I went to the south campus, and now I'm moving to Ümraniye. I was dreaming of a situation where we could come together and be together more often. I believe the Faculty of Health Sciences is an institution that needs to be together because we have so many commonalities, and each of us works with great dedication. My dear dean, thank you, despite being far apart, they have always supported us. It's enjoyable to be with you all, let's be together more often. I hope 2022-2023 will be more pleasant, an environment where we see each other more often.”
Prof. Dr. Selma Doğan: “I wholeheartedly believe that we have a very good team”
Üsküdar Üniversitesi Faculty of Health Sciences Head of the Department of Nursing, Prof. Dr. Selma Doğan, emphasized the need to organize events under the faculty's roof. Doğan said: “We are making efforts at the department level, but if we organized a congress or an event under the faculty's roof, where all of us could meet, you know our common ground is health, and we will hopefully have our journal, for example. We are targeting these in the coming years or terms. I wholeheartedly believe that we have a very good team. Wherever we are, I hope everything will be fine.”
Prof. Dr. İsmail Barış: “Our faculty is truly very large”
Üsküdar Üniversitesi Rector's Advisor, Faculty of Health Sciences Head of the Department of Social Work, Prof. Dr. İsmail Barış, mentioned that the Faculty of Health Sciences is indeed very large.
Prof. Dr. Güler Cimete: “We truly experienced very dynamic things this year”
Üsküdar Üniversitesi Faculty of Health Sciences Head of the Department of Midwifery, Prof. Dr. Güler Cimete, spoke about the good things they experienced this year. Cimete said: “We, the midwifery department, are among those who are quite vocal. Actually, we truly experienced very dynamic things this year. We have a new dean, welcome. We were happy, and it made us dynamic. As the midwifery department, our staff has become quite good. We all stayed young and vigorous from rushing around. When I walked down a corridor, I would see at least ten of my friends, and we would have a quick chat, which was enjoyable. We saw many of our friends from the Vocational School, and we had interactions. Let's socialize; we will need this inside the building too. We truly experienced good things this year.”
Prof. Dr. Deniz Demirci: “I wish you a happy life in the new academic year”
Üsküdar Üniversitesi Faculty of Health Sciences Head of the Department of Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation, Prof. Dr. Deniz Demirci, made evaluations about the Faculty of Health Sciences professors. Demirci said: “I am new at Üsküdar Üniversitesi. I have completed one year. When I came to the Çarşı campus, I said this place is very beautiful, and I hoped our department would be here, but then they told me; ‘Your department is at the south campus, you will go there.’ I went to the south campus, and I was enchanted by it too. It was even more beautiful. We have been working for almost a year and a half. I met wonderful professors there. I also came here for classes and met very kind and warm professors. They welcomed me very affectionately. I wish all of us a happy, healthy, and peaceful life in Ümraniye in the new academic year.”
Occupational Health and Safety department continues to remain at Çarşı campus
Üsküdar Üniversitesi Faculty of Health Sciences Head of the Department of Occupational Health and Safety, Dr. Lect. Rüştü Uçan, conveyed that the Occupational Health and Safety department will continue to remain at the Çarşı campus. Uçan said: “It has been eight years since I came here. I have been here since its establishment. We have come from the establishment of Occupational Safety here to today. There are newcomers, and there are those who leave. We are staying here at the Çarşı campus, and we welcome you. Our table and chairs are always open. Thank you.”
Dr. Lect. Nuri Bingöl extended his thanks
Üsküdar Üniversitesi Faculty of Health Sciences Deputy Dean Dr. Lect. Nuri Bingöl said: “I welcome everyone. I especially want to thank my professor Tuğba. She organized everything for this beautiful event from A to Z, so bon appétit to everyone.”
Dr. Lect. Tuğba Yılmaz Esencan: “New beginnings bring new energy”
Üsküdar Üniversitesi Faculty of Health Sciences Deputy Dean Dr. Lect. Tuğba Yılmaz Esencan made evaluations about the relocation of the Faculty of Health Sciences to the Np Dentistry and Health Campus. Esencan said: “We are going to the health campus, but we are the ones who will beautify the places we go. You were the ones who beautified this place too. I am sure we will experience the same feelings when we go there. New beginnings bring new energy. I believe it will be beautiful. New changes are always approached with a little apprehension at first, but I think we will all love it. Perhaps if we approach it with that intention, we will go with more peace, but as long as we are together, I believe every place we go will become beautiful. I am very happy to be here. I have been here for three years, but I feel as if I have been with you all for many years. I thank you all very much for making this possible.”
After the meal, certificates of achievement were presented to some faculty members and research assistants for their dedicated work throughout the term.
