Erasmus+ Orientation Week Completed at Üsküdar

Üsküdar University has completed its Erasmus+ Orientation Week, organized for 52 Erasmus students from 15 different countries hosted during the fall semester of the 2026-2027 academic year. Within the scope of the program, which aims to help students adapt to the university and their lives in Istanbul, academic briefings, as well as cultural, social, and introductory activities, were carried out. 

Erasmus students prepared for university life

During the opening program held on the first day of the orientation week, Erasmus students were provided with information about Üsküdar University, academic and administrative processes, student services, and campus facilities. Throughout the program, students' questions regarding their academic processes were answered, and information that Erasmus students might need to adapt more easily to university life was also conveyed.

They discovered Istanbul's historical and cultural heritage

Within the scope of the Orientation Week, Erasmus students had the opportunity to explore Istanbul's historical and cultural sites. During the Historical Peninsula tour, students learned about Istanbul's important historical structures and cultural heritage, gaining the chance to get to know the city closely.

Students also came together in a clay workshop and engaged in a creative activity. The activity, where students from different countries spent time together, also contributed to intercultural interaction.

They experienced Turkish culture

As part of the cultural activities of the orientation program, Erasmus students gathered for a traditional Turkish breakfast. Students had the opportunity to experience different flavors of Turkish cuisine while also conversing with each other.

With a village visit conducted within the program, students got to know local life and traditional culture outside of Istanbul's bustling city life. In activities that also included traditional Turkish games, students both had fun and gained different experiences related to Turkish culture.

Students from different countries met at Üsküdar University

Social activities carried out throughout the Erasmus+ Orientation Week also allowed students from 15 different countries to meet each other and form new friendships. With meetings and activities held on campus, students had the opportunity to learn about different cultures and share their own.

The Erasmus+ Orientation Week, completed with the participation of 52 Erasmus students, contributed to students getting to know the university, Istanbul, and Turkey more closely before starting their educational and social lives at Üsküdar University.
