Within the program, important information was shared to help young people plan their career journeys more consciously in line with 21st-century skills.

The event, held at Üsküdar University Çarşı Campus Emir Nebi Conference Hall, was attended by Asst. Prof. Ömer Faruk Karasakal, Director of Üsküdar University Health Services Vocational School (SHMYO), Remziye Çopur, Head of the Career Center Department, İŞKUR Business and Vocational Consultant Ümran Çoker, and İŞKUR Business and Vocational Consultant Nagehan Oral, as well as many academics and students.

Asst. Prof. Ömer Faruk Karasakal: “You must be very skilled at effective communication”

Speaking at the opening of the event, SHMYO Director Asst. Prof. Ömer Faruk Karasakal drew attention to the importance of communication in the business world. Karasakal said; “Today, with İŞKUR, we are carrying out an activity on 'Professions of the Future' within the scope of the GÜÇ project, specifically named 'Future Production Age'. It is no longer sufficient for our youth to graduate with only academic knowledge. Therefore, they need to be prepared for business life, be able to make correct career plans, and be able to recognize the expectations of the business world. You must be very skilled at communication, especially effective communication. You might be very knowledgeable about what you do, but if you have shortcomings in communication, success in business life may still fall short.”

Nagehan Oral: “It is very valuable for a person to know themselves”

İŞKUR Business and Vocational Consultant Nagehan Oral delivered her speech within the scope of the event. Oral provided detailed information to students about career planning, CV preparation, interview techniques, and preparation processes for business life. Oral said; “Employers no longer only look at academic achievement. Communication skills, presentation competencies, and digital proficiencies are also of great importance. In business life, it is very valuable for a person to know themselves. At this point, individual SWOT analysis serves as an important guide in the career journey. I recommend objectively evaluating your strengths and weaknesses. Furthermore, you can support your personal development by utilizing free education platforms.”

Ümran Çoker: “You need to be proactive”

İŞKUR Business and Vocational Consultant Ümran Çoker, in her speech, drew attention to the changing expectations of the business world. Çoker said; “Artificial intelligence has now become an inseparable part of business life and recruitment processes. Utilizing the opportunities offered by technology when preparing CVs, creating cover letters, and applying for jobs can provide significant advantages. Internship periods should not be considered merely as an obligation to be completed. This process offers important opportunities for both demonstrating yourself and building your personal brand. Being visible on professional platforms like LinkedIn and building a strong communication network also hold an important place in the career journey. You need to articulate yourself correctly and be proactive. Because our resume is our sales card,” she said.

At the end of the event, certificates of appreciation were presented to the participants.

The organized event concluded with a group photo session.
